Where Mom Solved the World's Problems
Some of life's greatest conversations never happened around a dining room table.
They happened wherever someone took the time to listen.
For me, it was outside a closed bathroom door. I'd sit on the floor with my back against it while Mom soaked in a warm bath and we'd talk about everything that seemed too heavy to carry alone. Family worries. Broken hearts. Big decisions. Somehow, by the time our conversation ended, the world always felt a little easier to carry.
The bathwater would cool, we'd laugh about how long we'd been talking and neither of us ever seemed to notice the time.
Looking back, I realize she wasn't just helping me solve life's problems.
She was teaching me how to face them.
Some places become unforgettable, not because of where they are but because of who was waiting on the other side of the door.
