Some paths have been traveled for so long that no one remembers who walked them first.
Perhaps it began with a farmer crossing the field each morning or neighbors taking the familiar way from one home to another. Someone gathered stones from the land and carefully stacked them into a wall. Others followed the path beside it until countless footsteps slowly became part of the earth itself.
Years passed.
The trees grew taller. Moss settled into the stones. Wildflowers found their way along the edges and the people who once knew every turn of the path eventually gave way to those who came after them.

A wall built one stone at a time. A tree planted for shade we may never sit beneath. A familiar path worn into the ground simply because life kept traveling over it.
We may never know the names of those who walked here before us. We may not know where they were going or what they carried with them along the way.
But perhaps that isn't what matters.
They traveled their part of the journey.
We travel ours.
And somewhere beyond the place where our footsteps end, another generation will begin leaving theirs.
The seasons will change. The old trees will continue reaching toward the sky.
